1. About the memes in the game
WTM? – Meme Club (“the app”) is an independent party game made by Elermond Studio S.R.L. (“we”, “us”). Its reaction cards use widely shared internet meme images to create new, humorous commentary: players pair a reaction with a situation. We do not claim ownership of any third-party image, character, name or logo shown in the app. All rights remain with their owners.
The app is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any other card game, publisher, film or TV studio, brand, or any person shown in a meme. Any trademarks mentioned belong to their owners.
We respect the rights of creators and of the people who appear in memes. If you own a work, a trademark, or you are pictured in a card and you don’t want it in the game, we will remove it. You don’t need a lawyer to ask.
2. Who can request removal
- Copyright owners (or their authorised agents) of an image, photo, film or TV frame, artwork or character.
- Trademark owners whose name, logo or brand appears in the app or in a way that could suggest a connection.
- People pictured in a meme, or a parent or guardian of a pictured minor. We remove these on request, no questions asked.
- Anyone reporting player content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexual or otherwise breaks our Terms of Use.
3. How to send a request
Email neogenius24@gmail.com and include:
- Your name and how to reach you (email is enough).
- What you’re reporting: a screenshot of the card, or a description of it, is enough for us to find it.
- Why: e.g. “I own the copyright in this photo”, “this is our trademark”, “this is me / my child”, or which rule the player content breaks.
- For formal copyright notices: a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the owner, its agent or the law; a statement that the information is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act for them; and your physical or electronic signature. These are the elements required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3) (US DMCA). We act on informal requests too.
If you’re in the EU, you can use this address for notices under Article 16 of the Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065). Please explain why you believe the content is illegal, where it is, and your name and email; the statement of good faith above also applies. This email address is our single point of contact for users and authorities.
4. What happens next
| Step | What we do | When |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Acknowledge | We reply to confirm we received your request. | Within 48 hours |
| 2. Disable | We switch the card off remotely: it disappears from every deck, collection and saved meme for all players on their next app launch. | Usually within 24 hours of a complete request |
| 3. Remove | We delete the image from the app files in the next app update. | Next release |
| 4. Confirm | We tell you when it’s done. | After step 2 |
Where a request is unclear, we may ask for more information before acting, but we lean towards removal. Content reported by a person pictured in it, or involving a minor, is disabled first and reviewed afterwards.
5. Player content
Players can write custom situations, captions, doodles and display names. Player content is shown only to the players in the same match or on the leaderboard, and is filtered for offensive words. When content is reported and breaks our rules or the law, we remove it and may suspend or ban the account. We ban accounts that repeatedly infringe other people’s rights.
Counter-notice: if your player content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, email us with the content, why you believe it was lawful, your name and contact details, and (for US DMCA removals) the counter-notification statements set out in 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3). We will review it and, where the law allows, restore the content. EU users can also use this process to contest a moderation decision, as provided by the Digital Services Act.
6. Misuse of this process
Please only report content you have a good-faith reason to report. Knowingly false copyright claims can create legal liability (for example under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f)).
